Tacoma Primary Bathroom Spa Remodel
Tacoma primary bathroom remodel replacing a leaking jacuzzi layout with a freestanding soaking tub, rain shower with body jets, natural stone tile, and warm wood-look accents.
Tacoma primary bathroom remodel case study: spa shower and freestanding tub
This Tacoma primary bathroom remodel replaced a leaking jacuzzi layout with a cleaner spa-style plan: freestanding tub, multi-head shower, better lighting, and durable porcelain surfaces.
Primary intent
Remove a failing jacuzzi setup and create a bathroom that felt calmer and easier to maintain.
Best upgrade
A walk-in shower with rain head, handheld, body jets, and a natural stone accent wall.
Budget control
Spent on wet-area function and lighting, not gimmick features that add maintenance.
Daily value
More reliable bathing space, better lighting, and a premium finish without a leaking tub system.
Before & After
The transformation speaks for itself

The Challenge
Large master bathroom with a jacuzzi tub that leaked, dated tile, and poor lighting. The homeowners traveled frequently and wanted a hotel-spa experience at home without the jacuzzi maintenance headaches.
Our Solution
Removed the jacuzzi and replaced it with a sculptural freestanding soaking tub. Built a large walk-in shower with rain head, handheld, and body jets. Installed wood-look porcelain planks on the floor, natural stone accent wall, floating vanity with integrated lighting, and a skylight tube for natural light.
What Homeowners Should Learn From This Remodel
These are the details that separate a clean remodeling plan from a vague quote.
Maintenance matters
Large jetted tubs can become expensive to maintain. A freestanding tub plus a better shower often gives homeowners more daily value and a cleaner long-term ownership experience.
Plan valve access early
Multi-head shower systems need water pressure, valve planning, waterproofing, and access decisions before walls close.
How to compare a bid like this
Ask whether shower valve rough-in, tub filler plumbing, glass, waterproofing, tile edge trim, and final fixture testing are included.
